UC Santa Cruz
As UCSC’s Associate Physical Planner, I was tasked with meeting the key goals of the school’s Long Range Development Plan while meeting local regulations, CEQA compliance, and stakeholder needs.
HIGHLIGHTS
Helped direct the campus’ Circulation Masterplan, which aims to make campus more accessible and easy to navigate, while reducing emissions.
Kicked off the campus’ Active Transportation Plan, identifying gaps and barriers in UCSC’s pedestrian and bike path networks.
Improved and standardized methodology for calculating campus VMT (Vehicle Miles Travelled) to ensure CEQA mitigation compliance.
Project managed and designed an interpretive panel about frog pond restoration along a bike path on the UCSC Coastal Campus.
Wrote an RFQ for housing design and planning services at Oakes College.

At renowned Danish urban design firm Gehl, I used field survey methods to collect and analyze data, and to develop design principles and planning documents for campus clients including Stanford, Google, and Mayo Clinic.
HIGHLIGHTS
Helped create the campus masterplan for the new Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability on a small, 4-person team.
Conducted a study of Stanford students’ sense of belonging on campus, analyzing and presenting the data in Tableau.
Created maps, drawings, and diagrams used in our planning documents.
Conducted a transect study and intercept surveys at Peace Plaza, a public plaza in Rochester, MN.

Served as the lead architectural designer on a 3,500 sq ft new building on a one acre site for an organic cafe and diner in Fort Bragg, CA.
Designed residential projects in sensitive areas along the California coast, ensuring minimal environmental impact.

In this year-long post with non-profit Hudson River Housing, I helped establish and run a coalition between 3 small towns seeking to build local affordable housing in a bilingual community while meeting the Comprehensive Plans of each of the three towns.
HIGHLIGHTS
Hosted monthly open forums to gain community input.
Identified sites for potential affordable housing developments, leading to the later approval of a 28-unit workforce housing development.

Parks Infrastructure Project Manager

In this role I conducted research and drafted site plans for park improvements, collaborating with consultants, contractors, and community volunteers to carry out the work.
HIGHLIGHTS
Tasked with documenting the existing condition, and documenting necessary repairs to a stone-step trail that serves as the primary pedestrian access trail to East Rock Park, a New Haven landmark.
Helped with planning, design, and research for a new park created by moms of victims of gun violence, memorializing the names of those killed with guns in New Haven over the previous 40 years.
